Beskrivelse
The world has descended into madness; Isis has set off suitcase bombs in major cities all across the U.S. in response to the eruption of the Yellowstone cauldron. Following that major cataclysm, tsunamis strike the East and West coasts, the Madrid fault separates the continent into two, the Mississippi has changed course and the resulting chaos has left the country defenseless. Homeland Security has set up multiple FEMA camps throughout the country in the aftermath of the death and destruction following the attack by Mother Nature and the radical religious fanatics that wish death to America. Retaliation leads to worldwide chaos, but the United Nations steps in by sending soldiers from the Republic of China, the only country not decimated. Americans now are confined to these outposts where food and shelter have been provided. Many are hopeless and accept their servitude, except one freedom fighter, a patriot who refuses to believe all is lost. Jacob is determined to get out and reconnect with his compatriots. Here he meets Carla, who, unbeknown to him at their meeting, is his soul mate, his other half, who has been searching through time to find him and heal the wounds that have divided them in misery through many past and torturous lives. They escape together and bring along a crippled young boy who has become dependent upon Carla, and on their journey they meet a being who informs them of their lofty mission to not only save themselves, but the world. The being represents those who are called the Watchers, an armada of the Galactic Federation that will assist in their mission, but the main responsibility lies with their ability to heal the wounds of the past and reunite the soul as it was created in the beginning of time. Time is short and the being reveals the multiple lives filled with abandonment and heartache, opening up Jacob's heart to his mission, but following them through time is the adversary who is determined to prevent Carla and Jacob from becoming one.
