Beskrivelse
Bill Watkins, a traveling, comedic poet and recovering alcoholic, recently unearthed three family memoirs in an unlikely place. Penned in the heart of American sin, the memoirs blend fact with fiction to create a new truth in an effort to understand what white conquerors did to create the "greatest democracy on Earth."
In a unique collection of stories and poems, Watkins begins by sharing a glimpse into the life of explorer and part-time stage actor, Robert Watkyns of Talgarth, Wales, who endured many trials and tribulations during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Next, he transports readers into the lives of nineteenth century slave owner and sometimes reluctant soldier, Bo Watkins, from Horse Pasture, Virginia (Wingandacoa to the natives), and finally to Bob Watts of Illinois, a CIA man harboring many secrets during a tumultuous time in a more modern America.
Land Thieves blends the dark history surrounding the United States with the lives of three men doing their best to face obstacles and overcome challenges.
