Laminated Souls follows the life story of one Don Smith as he navigates the challenges posed in a world being rapidly transformed by the denizens of Club Meds, a ruthless group of pill-poppers who have infiltrated all facets of society bleating "It's all good!" regardless of what transpires, provided only that their meds are suitably calibrated. The new psychotropic medications taken by nearly everyone for anything transform not only their moods and outlooks but also their views on morality. Whenever moral conscience and guilt begin to erupt, the denizens of Club Meds pop another "chill pill", which is no longer a metaphor but a literal prescription. Will humanity survive this cultural revolution? Is it still possible to penetrate these laminated souls?
