Kurt Westergaard The Man Behind the Mohammed Cartoon In September 2005 Kurt Westergaard drew one of the twelve cartoons of Mohammed published by the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten. At this point nobody could have foreseen that the publication of the cartoons would generate hatred and that Danish embassies in the Middle East would soon go up in flames. Since then Kurt Westergaard has been on Al-Qaida's death list. On the first of January 2010 a fanatic Muslim broke into his house in order to kill him.
