This substantial study of late Hellenistic and Roman cult and culture in the cities of the Decapolis is based on the detailed analysis of numismatic, archaeological and epigraphic evdience. As a whole this material provides invaluable evidence for the relationship between religion and politics in the region as it moved from Phoenician to Greek to Roman control.
