Dark and light, day and night, one cannot be without the other.
Cecelia Astaroth is married to a man she doesn't recognize anymore. She loves him, but something has changed. After a violent altercation between them, the electricity goes out, and she finds herself alone in the dark. This, she'll soon find out, is only the beginning of Cece's long hot summer.
Soon the Astaroth family arrives, seeking shelter. Cecelia learns many new things about her husband's family, the man she loves, and herself.
