A gang ransacks a family-run shop in the Greek seaside, leaving a passerby dead, and turning Vassilis's life upside down. His father is crippled by depression, his brother becomes the new despotic patriarch, and his mother can't see past her religious fervour. To top it all, Vassilis discovers his attraction to boys.Life in a rural town for a young LGBT person is not easy, and he has to battle against prejudice and hate. He crushes hard on one of his brother's friends, before falling into an almost abusive relationship with a classmate who denies his sexuality and decides to wait for his university days to acknowledge what being gay means.That's when he moves to Athens, the capital. Joining a student political party, he meets his two best friends, living an out and proud life. It's here that Vassilis finds love and lust, growing more confident about himself, up until a hate crime devastates his life. Between the horror he witnesses and the Greek economic crisis taking a toll on the country, he prepares himself for a move that will change his life: moving to London.
