As Milcah entered Jerusalem that morning she was shocked at how much it had changed. A deep oppression hung in the air amidst the scent of strange incense. The faces of the people seemed void of hope with no joy in their distant-looking eyes as many bowed before the altars of Baal and the Ashtoreth poles in submission to these pagan idols. In her heart she could not deny that God had a purpose for her here, but how could she possibly help in a situation like this?
