Beskrivelse
If you are genuinely looking for different, unique and a bit offbeat then you have arrived.
Born in a prison, Kedge Skroppett and his sister are separated at birth. Kedge's mother marries a beggar and they are soon into the undertaking business, where by a chance a FORTUNE lures Kedge. It is a gritty tale involving mystery, murder, revenge and hardships of the lowest class. I ask - To be so downtrodden yet filled with STRONG desire to achieve, how far would you go when your goal is virtually in your face?
For persons of senior school, college, university, right through to senior years.
Fiction for ages 12 to 112+ years basically .
Georgian /Victorian melodrama told in verse, (wait) but read as a full story. Some people may need a couple of initial attempts at a page or two then, they are INTO it. I confess a darkish humour filters in periodically.
On a technical side - The ending of each sentence of the first three of each four line stanza, I have purposely left unpunctuated, so as to be a useful tutor/pupil editing tool, to promote discussion, debate, gauge understanding. That apart and either way, it is a great book to read.
I have also given two separate accents in an up to date oldish English. One to the speech of Kedge, and on the outskirts of 'old London Town.' Another accent for his estranged sister Aggie, and those elsewhere across country
When writing I AIM to write in a way as not to be easily skimmed but fully insightful. My MAIN AIM though; whenever you pick up this book to have a little nose in again, is that you are sucked into a quality of writing to ENJOY EVEN MORE EACH TIME
For lovers of English literature, or historic based drama I offer for your delectation, KEDGE SKROPPETT.
