Katharine Houghton Hepburn, born on May 12th, 1907, Hartford, Connecticut, US, was an actress, with a fiercely independent and spirited personality, who was a leading lady in Hollywood for over 60 years. She appeared in a wide range of genres, from screwball comedy to literary drama, having received a record 4 Academy Awards for Best Actress. Hepburn was named by the American Film Institute during 1999, as the greatest female star of Classic Hollywood Cinema.
