The book is about a young man named Shonuske, age 15; who later finds out that life is not what he thought. What will he do to protect his freedom and more over will he ever learn to love anyone other than the woman who helped him gain his freedom from his uncle? What will happen when he has to make a choice of seeing his siblings again or remaining free? Finally a teacher takes him under his wing to help him learn new skills that will protect him from attacks. Then when he meets up some people who want to do nothing more than harm for him and his new found sister. Will he be able to protect those he loves and will he survive one more final attack on his life and health?
