Beskrivelse
At age 96, June Kjome remains a self-proclaimed, "old lady activist." Although legally blind, she continues to inspire everyone she meets to stand up for their beliefs. The book was inspired by the words, "Silence is the same as assent," which she used when speaking at a women's meeting. After 17 years as a nurse missionary in Zululand, she came back to the United States and served as a nurse in La Crosse, Wisconsin. After retirement, she became involved in resolving such problems as homelessness, hunger, equal opportunity and more.
