"Justice for Abraham," is the second story in a saga of Clay Holland, a former Texas Ranger and now Sheriff of the West Texas town of Bent Creek in the late 1870s. In this saga, Clay Holland must solve the mystery to find out who lynched Abraham Lincoln Washington, son of the local hostler known as Washington, a former Buffalo Soldier. During his investigation, Sheriff Holland is shot by one of the men suspected of the lynching. While Sheriff Holland is on the mend, hostler Washington, who has guarded prisoners in the past is sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff. Washington pursues the man who shot Sheriff Holland. Meanwhile, a Mexican outlaw named Manuel Chavez has been terrorizing the Bent Creek Community stealing horses and sheep. Chavez and his gang of bandidos then conduct an early morning raid and brazenly stampedes the cattle herd of prominent rancher James Smith, a former Ranger partner with Clay Holland. Can Deputy Washington catch the shooter? Will Sheriff Clay Holland overcome his shooting injury to identify, track, and capture the Chavez gang to recover the missing cattle herd? Will the lawmen catch the perpetrators of the lynching to bring order and safety to the people and ranches around Bent Creek?
