Beskrivelse

This is a short story of two boys from the Scottish highlands. In 1859 they were caught with a dead pheasant and as a result are charged with poaching. Following a quick trial they and their families are ordered to be transported to Australia. The ship they were travelling in is shipwrecked off the coast of Spain north of Cadiz; the families are rescued and given the chance to settle there. When the two are teenagers they get jobs, one to become a master builder and the other becoming a world famous jewellery designer. Both plan to return to Scotland, one to commission a beautiful mansion and the other to build it. All characters and events in this story are entirely fictitious The house under another name is real W.T. (Bill) Sutherland is a retired jeweller and is also acquainted with the area in Scotland which is the centre of this story.
