Journey of the Unforgiven

Enslaved by his own father, a Georgia plantation owner, Sam More has known little but suffering all his life. He escapes only to embroil himself in the bloody, haunting battlefields of the Civil War, where he finds himself accused of a terrible crime. On the run and with nothing to live for save the oath he made to a dying man--the very man he's accused of killing--Sam finally finds shelter in the home of a widow and her shy son.
