A perfect biography of Jack London as a drunk; it is most likely the first novel and thoughtful analysis on alcoholism in American literture. The novel is packed with London's notorious advevtures including his well known drinking binges through the character known as to John Barleycorn - a term even now given to alcohol just like the 'demon rim'.
