Beskrivelse
This is the story of Nicodemus, a Jewish leader, who comes to Jesus at night and wants to know how to enter the kingdom of God. Jesus shares that one must be "born again". Anyone who trusts in Jesus can have eternal life, He says. This inspiring nighttime scene is the basis of this book, following the Scripture John 3:1-16. Nicodemus was one of the Jewish leaders in the time of Jesus, a member of the Sanhedrin, the court and legislature of the Jewish community in the Land of Israel during that era. It appears that Nicodemus approaches Jesus under the cover of darkness so as not to be seen associating with a rebel against the Jewish establishment.Nicodemus is mentioned in the Scriptures two times more: John 7:50-52: during the Festival of Tabernacles (Sukkot in Hebrew) in Jerusalem, when Jesus attracts a huge crowd with his call to believe in him and his teaching. The Jewish authorities in Jerusalem are not pleased with this, and they want to arrest Jesus and bring him before the court. Nicodemus stands up and argues that every man has the right to be heard before he is put on trial. John 19:39-42: Nicodemus and Joseph of Arimathea pay their final respects to the crucified Jesus by anointing his body with myrrh and aloes, wrapping it in shrouds and burying him.The author of our book, Jim Reimann (1950-2013), was an ordained minister and Bible teacher. He was the Chairman of the Christian Booksellers Association, with members in more than 60 countries.
