Beskrivelse
The greatest Spanish composer of the second half of the 20th century was also a writer of distinction. Joaquin Rodrigo, famous above all for his Concierto de Aranjuez for guitar and orchestra, wrote about the works of many of the outstanding figures of classical music with insight, humour and eloquence, as well as memorably describing the music and cultural traditions of Spain, and revealing the origins and inspiration behind many of his own compositions. Rodrigo's writings on music, translated by Raymond Calcraft and Elizabeth Matthews, are published here in English for the first time.
