Joan of Quebec

Every side in a war believes that God is on its side, but what happens when a key political figure learns that God is on the other side? When Joan King Drapeau receives her Divine mission, she must forswear her allegiance to her husband, her father, her own people, and her commitment to the safety of children -- or she must defy God. The events of the novel are revealed through witness testimonies given for the purpose of Joan's beatification, five years after her death. Joan of Quebec deals with themes of nationalism, the role of religion in politics, the moral cost of war, betrayal and free will. In an eerie example of life imitating art, there was an assassination attempt when a new separatist leader was elected in Quebec in September 2012.
