The author revisits the 1950's, the age of conformity and a young boy named Jimmy Attaway. He was bright, tall for his age and loved to chase the girls. He lived in the avocado grove in a care takers cottage. He asked her for a date to the first school dance. He was so poorly dressed that he was ridiculed daily and an outcast. The 1950's was a time of conformity, do's and don'ts but he let it roll off his back. He asked his favorite to the dance. Because he was an outcast ....the delima of the authors preteenagers honest thoughts. All takes place in the town of Homestead, FL, Dade County during the 1950's
