Jesus in India

IS IT TRUE THAT JESUS WENT TO INDIA, where he was presumably influenced by Hinduism and Buddhism? If not, why are there so many coincidences between these religions and his spiritual teachings? Why does the New Testament keep silent regarding his life from his twelfth year to his thirtieth, when he began his public mission? What happened during those seventeen years silenced by the authors of the four Gospels? Did he stay with his parents, as most Christians claim, or did he visit distant nations, including the land of the Ganges?
