Jemmi's Journal

Young Jemmi, taught to read and write by her owner's daughter, begins the difficult task of recording her days at Grand Oaks Plantation on paper. The slave girl secretly records daily events that demonstrate the wide gulf that exists between slavery and freedom. Jemmi will have important decisions to make when financial difficulties strike the plantation and the security of its entire slave population is threatened.
