The General Epistles are the writing of some of the apostles and some persons who were outstanding members in the early church. Like the Pauline epistles, the General Epistles are written to encourage, exhort the believers to remain in fellowship with what was taught them from the beginning. Avoiding false doctrines and teachers are spoken of often. The same as the Apostle Paul's epistles.
