Beskrivelse
Volume 8 of the Annual Review of Law and Ethics deals with the genesis of the moral sciences. It focuses particularly on the scholarship that emerged from philosophy during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and over time grew into independent fields of study, such as modern (non-positive) jurisprudence, ethics, modern anthropology, psychology, and sociology. The articles in this volume consider the historical development itself, but also the various scholarly approaches discussed during the Enlightenment and their meaning for our present generation.
