Itipur is the smallest chick of a blue penguin colony in New Zealand. Itipur wants to be independent and swim and hunt for food like the older chicks, but he is still moulting and is grounded ashore. If he goes into the sea with baby feathers he will die of cold. When an earthquake shatters the island, all the animals that can swim flee, leaving Itipur behind. Now he must reach the colony to survive, but will he make it with a vicious sea monster between him and his family?
Literature Easy-to-Read
'Itipur y el monstruo del oc ano' is an easy Spanish reader using just 80 new vocabulary words and 55 words that are similar in both Spanish and English. This edition is compliant with the Easy-to-Read standard: is in a bigger format, has lots of space for reading ease and is written with dyslexic-friendly font. The basic vocabulary is presented at the beginning of the book and all new words are introduced with translations and explanations so that the student has a 'one-page reading experience'. A glossary with all words used is provided at the end of the book.
