Beskrivelse
Before Jesus died, He cried out in triumph, "It is finished!" Jesus died knowing all things had been accomplished, all Scripture had been fulfilled. The price had been paid to redeem mankind from sin. Jesus went to sleep in death knowing He had accomplished all of His Father's will. LENTEN is a period of fasting, moderation, and self-denial. It begins with Ash Wednesday and ends with Easter Sunday. The length of the Lenten fast was established in the 4th century as 46 days (40 days, not counting Sundays). LENT is preparation for Easter when we choose to set aside time to focus on Jesus' death and resurrection, repent of sin, and consecrate ourselves in greater devotion to God. DURING LENT, participants may eat sparingly, or abstain from a particular food or habit to set aside time for devotion and prayer.
