When Fiona's car decides it's ready for a breakdown, she reluctantly brings it to the repair shop in town that everyone says is the best. After the briefest of chats with Quinn, the rudest mechanic she's ever had the displeasure to meet, she decides to adopt a wait and see attitude about the repair. Quinn, a mechanic by trade, and an avid reader by choice, is a fan of author TT Huckins, who recently passed away, leaving his heirs with the task of locating someone to complete the novel TT had begun shortly before his death. Quinn is up for the challenge and enters the contest, surprised to learn the beautiful woman who'd chosen to disregard his advice to have her car repaired is also a contestant.
