History is not only written by kings and generals, emperors and potentates. It is written by millions of individuals with fierce determination, unwavering character and the intestinal fortitude to persevere. Such a man was Richard Burrell Waller, the first of the Waller family to know Florida as home, more specifically, Istachatta.
