Beskrivelse
Studying the book of Isaiah is like watching a movie with dual plots and story lines. Isaiah lives and preaches during the days of Hezekiah. We find him; however, writing about the days of Judah's Babylonian captivity which occurred one hundred years later. The prophet switches back and forth writing about his current day and the future days of Judah. Isaiah's words are designed to encourage the future people of captivity while warning the current people who were living in sin. If Judah did not want to face the prospect of being crushed by Babylon and spending seventy years in captivity they needed to have a change of heart. The Prophet's duty is to get the people to conform their lives to the Lord's standard of righteousness to prevent the impending disaster.
