"A teacher can never light another lamp unless it continues to burn its flame." Hence a teacher needs to continually develop intellectually if he is going to be able to develop the intellectual development of his pupils. It will improve the quality of his efforts, and his role is likely to be enhanced. Thus the book introduction to philosophy of education is a qualitative efforts on the teacher's activities. Since philosophy appears to be very pillar on which a country's educational practice is built, a sound knowledge of philosophy of education is a matter of compulsion for both practicing teachers and would be teachers, in our schools. Our teachers need to know some philosophy in order to increase their knowledge of the changing environment so that they themselves could face the challenges of improving and changing the society.
