Tim Jeffs creates highly detailed illustrations that have garnered worldwide attention as they raise awareness of the animal kingdom. He draws a wide range of species, many of them threatened or endangered. He carefully researches each animal's habits, physical appearance, habitats, and conservation status, paying close attention to the patterns of skin and scales, fur and feathers. His artwork edges away from photorealism when he covers his subjects with a stylized pattern of his own creation.
