The work consists of two parts. In the first, the author focuses on the various 'worlds' of Israel's prophets (historical, social, theological and 'literary'). This provides the basic contextual and background information that students need to exegete the literature. In the second, he focuses on developing a methodology which students can employ when seeking to interpret a section from a prophetic text. After working through the book, readers should emerge as more competent and confident interpreters of the prophetic literature.
