Learn how much fun intermittent fasting can be while eating food from boxes every day. Intermittent fasting is easy and fun when you add a weird twist. Each day I fasted for sixteen hours and then I ate two thousand calories of healthy food and something from a box...every day for thirty days.
I learned that I can eat processed food found in boxes every day and not gain weight. I wasn't trying to lose weight this month (February). Instead, I wanted to know if I could eat boxed food each day and not gain back the weight I lost when I first started intermittent fasting (I lost 30 pounds in two months).
I learned that it is more fun to install variety into a diet than to stick with the same thing every day. I ate rice, pasta, oatmeal, pancakes, stuffing, cold cereal, chocolate, Triscuits, raisins, mashed potatoes, pistachios, granola bars, popcorn, and a variety of other things. This was a fun month.
The secret to my success this month was intermittent fasting. I consumed calories for eight hours a day (from 10 am to 6 pm) and fasted the evening, night, and morning hours. I also recorded exactly what I ate using the phone app MyFitnessPal. I pay for an annual membership and love knowing exactly what is going into my body, even when I eat cookies or drink a beer. This keeps me from overeating or giving in to a sugar urge at night. I lost 21 pounds in September, and 9 pounds in October, and maintained my weight in November and December and January. In February, I continued the diet and experimented with boxed food. If you want to learn about my fascinating journey, then read this book. This is the sixth book in a series on intermittent fasting:
