This book is an introductory book that will attempt to explain the basics of Maritime 4.0 and prepare help the current seafarer to adapt to future technologies. The roots lie in Industry 4.0 that led to the introduction of Maritime 4.0 and soon we will see Industry 5.0 which will catapult the shipping industry to the next level and beyond. The shipping industry of the near future will see more autonomous ships with not just intelligent engines but AI-based systems, cargo handling robots and bots for most support functions.
