1937: When an ancient artefact is recovered from a river in Western Australia, a dangerous race begins. The object is from an unknown source, from an unknown technology - and it has links to the very roots of sorcery. To a small group of esoteric scholars, the artefact represents a revelation. To others ? it may open the gates to unspeakable power. As the hunt for knowledge suddenly spills onto distant worlds, ancient terrors awaken: Terrible enemies that have waited, hungering to feast upon the souls of worlds.
