Ineffable

The sun shines hot on the back of my neck As I stroll quickly towards the frosted glass door of work. I pass by the Hari Krishna's And smile as two hippy girls Twirl and bounce To the rhythm of the Djembe And the brightly colored Meditative chant of orange-robed men. My heart sings along, "Hari Hari Hari Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hari Hari " I sit smiling on the dirty stairwell, Weary in dirty clothes And feel the joy and sadness of existence Pouring out of me in waves. The drum beat racing faster Speeding the rhythm of my heart into primal urge Of jump-for-joy ecstasy.
