Hugo isn't a magician or charmer who weaves spells or transforms people; he's just a dog with a broken body and a ruined face. But somehow, his heart and attitude seem to heal others. Mattie Anderson, battered from a series of personal tragedies, is in need of a life do over. When Hugo jumps from the tailgate of an old truck and limps across her yard, she realizes her world is about to change forever.
