In His Shadow

Chloe had loved her husband deeply, so when she lost him in a freak accident, she was completely distraught. Unable to run the ranch Caleb had loved by herself and not wanting to give it up; she reluctantly agrees to marry the ranch foreman when he asks. What she doesn't realize is that Braden had fallen in love with her long before Caleb had, and had only stepped aside for his dear friend when he'd realized that the other man would never survive without Chloe. Caleb had never been as confident or self-reliant as Chloe had believed him to be. He'd practically lost his shirt more times than Braden could count only to lean on his best friend to bail him out, time and time again. Unbeknownst to Chloe, Braden had agreed to give Caleb a hefty loan in order to buy the Lazy B ranch in the first place, even when he knew that doing so would mean he'd never be able to afford a place of his own. Now, Braden is struggling to win over the woman he's loved since they were in High School, but it won't be easy, living in his deceased best friend's shadow.
