I wasn't screaming anymore, even the beating of my heart had steadied. But the darkness remained, surrounding me in a liquid dome. I could feel it watching me, but there wasn't a face for me to center on. I'm not sure how long I've been here. Hours, days, weeks. Time seemed irrelevant.
One thing was certain, this darkness was alive, and sentient.
But perhaps this is a trick of my mind. Light and darkness both an illusion I've allowed myself to believe existed.
