I'm Missing a Chopstick?

Ralph Newheart, Jr. columnist for The Rhode Island Post wrote, "Where has this author been? He puts a fresh spin on family and life events that we can all relate to, but in an odd sort of way, while pacing the reader with poetry interjected to keep things off balance even more. I couldn't put this book down, seriously, apparently he had put some sort of glue on the cover of the book. But other than that -- a great read." Stephan T. Bookunit, Assistant Editor for the Transatlantic Quarterly Review said, "I was behind in my work, and tried to catch up while in the back pew of my church, big mistake, as I laughed so hard reading McSherry's book, not only was I asked to leave the church -- but also change my religion. He was that funny P.S. It took a bit getting used to the prayer wheels here at the monastery, but I think I have the hang of it now. Go clockwise." These are fictitious reviews that I invented and certainly would love to see written about my book, as I'm Missing a Chopstick is a funny quirky collection of personal essays from my youth in Taiwan to my adulthood living with his Asian family in Hawaii. The story selection begins with the essay, The Red Button, wherein two eleven-year-old boys, asthmatic pal Jay and I, almost blew up a water buffalo while manning a remote anti-aircraft gun. These stories are interspersed with poems, as well as a few sad romantic essays. Ending stories are life with my Filipino family, and my wife's collection of those metal Christmas deer that she keeps in our living room, all nine of them.
