Cooking in the Southern style is a tradition that is passed down through the generations from Grandmother's to Mother's and then to Daughters. It takes years and a lot of practice to learn how to make dishes the way Mama used to make them. Southern recipes have measurements such as a "pinch," a "tad," or a "smidgen" and it takes years to learn to use those measurements. Young women are taught early to observe and learn how to create the very best food ever made.
