If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2Ch 7:14)
In 2 Chronicles we read of the Temple of the Lord being built by King Solomon after many years of planning and preparation by King David. Just after the Temple's dedication, we read in 2 Chronicles 7:11-16 that the Lord speaks to Solomon through a dream. It is the words of the Lord to Solomon in this dream that form the basis of this study. As we examine this dialogue, we discover that there are a number of biblical truths that flow from this encounter.
If My People examines what these truths are and follows them through scripture before considering their application to the Church. The call of the Lord in 2 Chronicles is one that echoes to the Church of today. The precedent that the Lord set forth to Solomon has application to us as believers. Within the pages of this study we will discover how the call of "If My People" applies to the Church of today and the responsibilities that come with it. The Lord has much for His Church and His people if they can fulfil His call of "If My People".
