Ready or not, New Year carries the Pictish Spirit community into another cycle of the journey. Summer warmth conceals a cold current of grief which for some grows as a hard frost to preserve and protect even while it cracks apart old burdens, revelatory in its power. Visions take root in spite of pain, crossroads gained, their challenges met. Adam faces the possibility of a European tour, Ben begins to plot a solitary journey to Skye, while Róisín knows she must remain in place to nourish the roots of their community. For even as ice has glazed the joy of summer, it is Róisín's responsibility as Priestess and Matriarch to be ready for the thaw.
