'I Can Fix It! A Tale from the Iris the Dragon Series' is a story of a young girl named Josie who experiences teasing and bullying from her classmates. To others, Josie appears shy or not friendly and she often gets angry when something confuses her. She meets Iris the Dragon and learns how to relate to others and develop resilience in her life with the support of a caring community. This is a story about Aspergers Syndrome, and an opportunity for children to identify with the thoughts, feelings and actions of one who suffers from a form of autism. Iris's 4th book focuses on Asperger's Syndrome, one of the Autism Spectrum Disorders, and the importance of a caring community surrounding children with developmental, emotional and behavioral challenges. Dr. Peter Szatmari, Professor and Head of the Division of Child Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University states, 'I read 'I Can Fix It a tale from the Iris the Dragon Series,' with delight and knew immediately that this book could go a long way to removing that stigma.
