Beskrivelse
Despite advances in the democratization of Peruvian society, however, expressions of discrimination and racism against indigenous people (Andean and Amazonian), migrants and people of Andean origin persist throughout the country. The book tries to explore the explanations of the subsistence of these prejudices and stereotypes in the urban populations that assume racist discourses and practices in the intersubjective ambits and daily relations. A case analysis is made in the city of Cusco to understand how racism is still in force and is part of the structure and social relations in a region where the majority of the population has historical Andean and mestizo origins.
