Garden City, Long Island, New York. The Great Depression has changed this close-knit, God-fearing, caring town forever. Not only has small businesses been abandoned but dark secrets have been revealed. Betty, known as the town's low-life hooker only wants to be loved by the one man she feels that will never love her back. Bobby, a dedicated police man that Betty has known since grade school.
