Another victim is Smith family. Smith's daughter was seduced by the prince and ran away from home. In the end, Smith's daughter was deprived of happiness and estate. Only an illegitimate and lonely daughter named Nellie was left behind. In the end, Nellie died in the poverty and sickness. The author expressed his deep sympathy to the weak and exposed the selfishness, hypocrisy, greed and contemptible means.
