Beskrivelse
With De sacramentis Christiane fidei, it is indisputably Hugh's main work that is being printed here. It evolved during the last decade of his life and therefore represents a high degree of intellectual and theological maturity. De sacramentis can be read as one of the early theological Summae, as they were conceived and accomplished from the early 12th century by many contemporary authors in varied forms and characteristics. Hugh's Summa De sacramentis Christiane fidei represents in the contemporary context a climax not surpassed until the 13th century, on account of the richness of the sources used, the new perspectives developed in many details as well as the systematic coherence of its theological basic options.
