HPLC Assay Methods for Estimation of Drugs in Pharma Formulations

The growth of pharmaceutical industry, increase in the number and variety of drugs and availability of sophisticated instruments has paved way for rapid progress in providing simple analytical procedures for the analysis of complex formulations also. The availability of new techniques with improved equipments has made the latest techniques attractive.Analyst plays a vital role in pharmaceutical research as they purify and analyze the drugs.The literature survey in pharmaceutical analysis reveals that spectrophotometry, chromatography and hyphenated techniques are most popular. From in-depth review, we could identify many disadvantages in these classical and hyphenated techniques. Thus there is ample scope for devising new techniques, which are accurate and easily applicable in quality control laboratories.The present study ¿HPLC Assay methods for estimation of drugs in pharmaceutical formulations¿ focuses primarily on analytical methods which the author has developed using reverse phase technique, as an alternatives to conventional analytical techniques.
