Mindful eating is a technique that encourages people to be fully present while they are eating. For kids of all ages, this practice has a lot of good things going for it, like helping them build a healthy relationship with food and teaching them how to listen to their bodies. The Five Ways to Consume Food with Intention are five ways you can teach your child how to eat mindfully. They include being present in the present moment, paying close attention to your emotions, and using the senses of taste and smell to notice what food tastes and smells like. "Mindful eating" encourages people to pay attention to how their food makes them feel as soon as they eat. It is possible to become acutely aware of how food tastes, smells, looks, and feels when you are using all of your senses at the same time.
